Here's a picture of The Chickadee Chalet. It was named after the bird that was so annoyed that I disturbed its peace and disrupted its eating at the nearby feeder when I built it during the summer of 2004.The Chickadee Chalet is a 10 x 12 foot post and beam screened building of my own design. After taking a couple of bids by professional builders that I thought unreasonably high, I convinced Sue, and myself, that I could build it better and cheaper. Many hours of cursing later, I fulfilled those aspirations.
It's a great place for hanging out with a drink to watch the birds at the feeder and birdbath.
They're oblivious to our presence through the screen.
